I went to DC when I was younger but don't remember much. I'm hoping to take our kids soon since we're not THAT far away!

My favorite memory while in Wahington DC was sitting outside the White House enjoying the view and thinking of all the historical events that had occurred inside. As we were sitting there, President Bush and his HUGE motorcade pulled out of the side gate !! It was pretty exciting and a moment our family will always remember !!

My parents took my sister and I there for vacation one summer to see all the historical sights. I just remember standing along the fence, looking at the White House with such amazement. (And finding out that the side we see on telelvision is actually the back of the White House and not the front.)

Hi Kacey! My husband and I were in D.C. the week of May 18th with 300 plus 8th graders. We had a fantastic time...and it was great to see how many kids were interested in all the memorials and the history that is in that city. Also, D.C. has some great picture making memories!

I used to live in Fairfax Co in Vienna. When we were little we used to go to DC every Christmas to see all the Christmas Trees decorated for each state and the reindeer. Was awesome AND a sweet memory because we went with our neighbors and then had hot chocolate at their house when we got home.

I also LOVED the Lincoln Monument. Plus the concerts on the Mall at 4th of July were great! :)

I go to school in DC! I'm from Florida so I was a bit skeptical about going to school so far away. But the city is completely inviting!

There were so many things to do all year. During the first few months of school, my classmates and I would walk down to the monuments all the time. We loved going down at night! I'm a coxswain for the rowing team and we row right by the monuments on the Potomac which is incredible!

After the election, everyone from campus RAN to the White House. It was absolute mayhem, but such a remarkable experience. I also had the privilege of receiving tickets to the inauguration and The Neighborhood Ball. Awesome Awesome Awesome!

This spring, despite the winds and rain, the cherry blossom festival was phenomenal. Oh how much I love DC!

I love Washington DC! My favorite place is probably the mall. It's so beautiful and there are so many fun sites around it. I could spend days (and have!) wandering around the mall going to the different monuments and museums.

Kacey, I'm so glad you guys had such a great time...I love DC! I always say that if I were young and single, DC is where I'd live. So much to do and see.

I think one of my favorite DC memories was sitting and watching the Senate in action. It was amazing and so interesting to watch. My husband and I sat there for hours. I also loved Union Station and there GREAT food court!

I have been fortunate enough to have visited DC twice. Once as a high school student and again in my mid-twenties. I must say I appreciated EVERYTHING more the second time around. I loved Arlington National Cemetary. I would love to go back to experience the WWII memorial and to take my children.
